Basketball Recap: Winfield Comes Up Short

Winfield came into their game on Monday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They were beaten by St. Charles West 55-18. The contest marked Winfield's lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Having lost for the first time this season, Winfield fell to 5-1. As for St. Charles West, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 4-1.

Winfield will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Veritas Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on January 12, 2026. As for St. Charles West, they have already played their next game, a 68-56 loss against Cardinal Ritter College Prep on the 16th.
