Preview: Everton Tigers vs. School of the Ozarks Patriots
Everton is 1-9 against School of the Ozarks since February of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Everton Tigers will head out on the road to square off against the School of the Ozarks Patriots at 6:00 p.m. Everton is no doubt hoping to put an end to a 23-game streak of away losses dating back to last season.
Last Monday, Everton came up short against McAuley Catholic and fell 55-44.
Despite the loss, Everton saw an underclassman step up: Olivia Sartin almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 18 rebounds. Makiya Heim was another key contributor, scoring six points.
School of the Ozarks has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They took a 43-36 hit to the loss column at the hands of Classical on Saturday.
Everton has been struggling recently as they've lost 13 of their last 14 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-18 record this season. As for School of the Ozarks, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-6.
Everton suffered a grim 46-23 defeat to School of the Ozarks in their previous matchup back in February of 2023. Thankfully for Everton, Samara Smith (who scored 15 points along with eight rebounds and four blocks) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
