Baseball Game Preview: Warner Eagles vs. Okemah Panthers

Warner has gone a perfect 4-0 against Okemah recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Eagles will face off against the Panthers at 5:00 p.m. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with 11 consecutive losses for Warner and three for Okemah.

Warner fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Pocola on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Indians by a score of 7-6.

Jacob Duncan and Colt Thompson did some serious damage despite the final result: Duncan went 2-for-4 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run, while Thompson got on base in four of his five plate appearances with one stolen base and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Chase Dilley, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Okemah challenged Morrison on Thursday. The Panthers lost 9-3 to the Wildcats.

Hadlee Wells made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 1-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Warner's record now sits at 5-27. As for Okemah, their record is now 8-22.

Warner got the 'W' in their previous matchup back in March against Okemah by a conclusive 19-10 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
