Basketball Recap: Valley Christian's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Argonaut, Valley Christian was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Buckingham Charter Knights with a sharp 70-46 win. The matchup marked the Lions' most dominant victory of the season so far.

Valley Christian's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Josh Becker, who went 6 of 11 en route to 19 points along with five rebounds and four steals. The contest was Becker's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of James Shevchuck, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 12 boards.

Valley Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 25 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 13 offensive boards in three consecutive games.

Valley Christian moved to 4-9 with that victory, which also ended their six-game losing streak. As for Buckingham Charter, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season.

Valley Christian will take on Sacramento Adventist at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Valley Christian is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 62.1 points per game this season. As for Buckingham Charter, they will face off against Faith Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Buckingham Charter is facing Faith Christian at the right time seeing as Faith Christian is stuck on a nine-game losing streak.
