It was a proper cat-fight when Maxwell took on Paxton on Saturday. The Wildcats sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 win over the Tigers. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Wildcats also won the last time the pair played back in October of 2024.

Kristyn Cheek paced Maxwell's offense, picking up 14 kills. Cheek got some help from Emory Christensen and her 13 assists. Madelyn Flock controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

Paxton's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Cayla Peterson, who had eight digs and two aces, and Addison Holm, who had 20 digs, two blocks, and two aces.

Maxwell now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Paxton, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-7.

Maxwell didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-1 victory against Sutherland on the 25th. As for Paxton, they have also already played their next contest, a 2-0 win against Potter-Dix on the 23rd.
