Basketball Recap: Hannibal Comes Up Short

Hannibal was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 17th straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a 46-35 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Elsberry Indians. The Pirates were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Indians apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.

Hannibal's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Elsberry, the win got them back to even at 1-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Hannibal will head out to square off against Winfield at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Elsberry, they will take on Duchesne at 7:00 p.m. on the 12th.
