Football Recap: East Lake Finds Playoff Glory Versus Manatee

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only East Lake walked away with it. They managed a 6-0 victory over the Manatee Hurricanes on Thursday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Eagles.

East Lake didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Mia Melton. She has been hot, having also posted at least one defended passe the last seven times she's played.

East Lake's win bumped their record up to 11-4. As for Manatee, their loss dropped their record down to 12-4.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. East Lake will take on Riverdale at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Eagles 6.7, the Raiders 6.9) so any points scored will be well earned. As for Manatee, they will challenge North Fort Myers at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Red Knights will roll in looking for their tenth straight victory, something the Hurricanes surely won't give up without a fight.
