Basketball Recap: Sharpstown Comes Up Short

Sharpstown came into their game on Saturday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They were outmatched by the Madison Marlins and fell 74-41. While losing is never fun, the Apollos can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1394th, while the Marlins are ranked 199th).

Sharpstown's defeat dropped their record down to 5-8. As for Madison, they have been performing well recently as they've won 12 of their last 15 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Sharpstown will face off against rival Sterling at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Madison is set to challenge their familiar foe Galena Park at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
