Basketball Recap: Oaks Triumphs

After losing to Hooper Academy the last time they met, Oaks decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. In a tight matchup that could have gone either way, the Mighty Oaks made off with a 64-63 victory over the Colts. The win was all the more spectacular given the Mighty Oaks' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 299th, while the Colts are ranked 149th).

Oaks' victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ashton Crews, who posted 19 points. Another player making a difference was Joey Allen, who earned 17 points.

Oaks' win bumped their record up to 11-8. As for Hooper Academy, the loss snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 15-6 record.

Oaks has already played their next game, a 52-44 defeat against Trinity Christian on the 22nd. As for Hooper Academy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 50-45 loss against Edgewood Academy on the 22nd.
