The top five teams in this week's MaxPreps Xcellent 25 National Softball Rankings have combined to win 108 games without a loss, and the top 10 have lost just three times in 241 games.
Mission Viejo is at the top of that impressive ranking with a 17-0 record, followed by unbeatens Amador Valley, Alexander Central, No. 4 Ponte Vedra (Fla.) and No. 5 Barber's Hill.
Rounding out the Top 10 are No. 6 Cy-Fair, No. 7 Mauldin, No. 8 Cinco Ranch, No. 9 South Salem and No. 10 LaGrange.
South Salem has won its last 15 games via shutout.
Returning to the Top 25 this week is Clovis (Calif.). Clovis has won nine in a row to improve to 26-1 on the season.
Dropping out of the Top 10 was last week's No. 4 (now No. 22) Archbishop Mitty, which lost 3-1.

Johanna Grauer struck out 22 in pitching a pair of two-hit wins for the Dons. She has a 0.17 ERA. The Dons hosted Livermore on Tuesday.
3. (3) Alexander Central (Taylorsville, N.C.), 22-0Central's win streak stands at 53 after defeating once-beaten North Stokes (Danbury), 4-0. Central has allowed just 19 runs while scoring 279 this season. It visits North Iredell (Olin) on Wednesday.
4. (5) Ponte Vedra (Fla.), 27-0The Sharks defeated Paxon (Jacksonville) 8-0 behind
Avery Geehr's one-hitter to advance to the Regional 5A semifinals game at Baker County (Glen St. Mary) on Tuesday.
5. (6) Barbers Hill (Mt. Belvieu, Texas), 25-0The Eagles routed Lumberton 13-0 as
Randi Rupp pitched a one-hitter and struck out 14. They advance to the May 3 4A Regional game against the winner of the Magnolia versus East View (Georgetown) game.
6. (7) Cy-Fair (Cypress, Texas), 27-1The Bobcats recorded their eighth-straight shutout and 16th of the season by blanking Langham Creek (Houston), Cy-Ridge (Houston) and Eisenhower (Houston).
7. (8) Mauldin (S.C.), 26-0The Mavericks picked up four wins last week, including two over defending 4A state champion Boiling Springs (Spartanburg) – one that went nine innings. They beat Byrnes (Duncan) 1-0 on Monday.
8. (9) Cinco Ranch (Katy, Texas), 27-1Behind the pitching of
Kayla Ober and hitting of
Karli Hamiton, Cinco Ranch beat Chavez (Houston) twice, 10-0 and 19-0. Ober pitched a pair of one-hitters and struck out 22 and Hamilton drove in eight runs in the two games. Cinco Ranch plays the winner of the Alief Taylor (Houston) versus Cypress Woods (Cypress) game on May 3.
9. (13) South Salem (Ore.), 18-0 Behind the pitching of senior
Katie Donovan, the Saxons have won 15 straight games by shutout. They visited West Salem on Tuesday.
10. (11) La Grange (Texas), 32-1The Cougars edged Robinson, 5-4, then opened the playoffs with a 12-2 win over Needville as
Hatti Moore and
Kristy Bertsch each drove in three runs.
Missy Zoch, who also homered in the playoff win, picked up her 23rd win of the season. On Tuesday, a rematch between the Cougars and Needville took place.
11. (13) Columbia (Lake City, Fla.), 20-1 Columbia defeated Escambia, 10-0, in the regional quarterfinals to advance to Tuesday's regional semifinals against Oak Leaf.
12. (21) Sparkman (Harvest, Ala.), 46-2The Senators, who have won 25 straight, end their regular season hosting Austin (Decatur) on Tuesday.
13. (14) The Woodlands (Texas), 30-2The Highlanders ran their win streak to 21 with playoff wins over Klein Collins (Spring), 12-2 and 11-6. The Woodlands moves on to a Friday playoff game against the winner of Bowie (Austin) and Stony Point (Round Rock).
14. (15) Atascocita (Humble, Texas), 29-1The Eagles beat College Park (The Woodlands) in a pair of playoff games (11-1, 7-1) to advance to the area playoffs hosting Round Rock on Friday.
15. (16) St. Amant (La.), 29-1St. Amant beat Chalmette in a Bi-District opener.
16. (17) Sherwood (Sandy Spring, Md.), 11-0The Warriors have scored 145 runs in eleven games. They visited Damascus on Tuesday.

The Hawks, who have won 34 of their last 35 games, defeated West (Shawnee Mission) 16-0 and Leavenworth, 23-5. They hosted South (Olathe) on Tuesday.
18. (19) Immaculate Heart Academy (Washington Township, N.J.), 16-0IHA outscored its foes 38-2 in its four wins last week.
Steph Thomas is hitting .481 and is 15-0 with a 0.23 ERA and on Monday no-hit Academy of the Holy Angels (Demarest), 11-0. IHA hosted Clifton on Tuesday.
19. (22) Camas (Wash.), 9-0The Papermakers beat Union last week behind
Katie Schroeder's two doubles and 12-strikeout performance. They play four games this week.
20. (20) Vacaville (Calif.), 20-0-1Sophomore pitcher
Katie Kibby is 20-0 with a 0.50 ERA. The Bulldogs visit Rodriquez (Fairfield) on Wednesday.
21. (25) St. Thomas Aquinas (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.), 26-2 The Raiders opened the postseason with two wins and met American (Hialeah) on Tuesday in the 7A regional semifinal. All nine of the Raiders' seniors have signed to play collegiately next season.
22. (4) Archbishop Mitty (San Jose, Calif.), 21-1Valley Christian's Brynne Fitzpatrick overpowered Mitty in a 3-1 win as she pitched a two-hitter and struck out 16. It was only Mitty's second loss in two seasons. The Monarchs bounced back with a 9-0 win over Santa Teresa (San Jose) as
Jazmyn Jackson had three hits and
Stephanie Kristo pitched a two-hit shutout. Mitty visits Wilcox (Santa Clara) on Wednesday and visits Valley Christian (San Jose) on May 6.
23. (23) Curtis (River Ridge, La.), 26-2Since losing five weeks ago, the Patriots have won 22 in a row, including a pair of playoff games to move into the state 3A quarterfinals on May 2 against an opponent yet to be determined.
24. (24) Eastern Tech (Baltimore), 17-0The Mavericks routed three opponents by a combined 48-0 score last week and host Kenwood (Baltimore) on Wednesday.
25. (NR) Clovis (Calif.), 26-1Since losing 4-3, Clovis has won nine straight. Rival Clovis North visited on Tuesday.
