Basketball Recap: Kinsley Spoor and Naomi Denmark Secure Win for St. Petersburg Catholic

On Wednesday, the St. Petersburg Catholic Barons sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 47-44 win over the Dunedin Falcons.

St. Petersburg Catholic was led to victory by Naomi Denmark and Kinsley Spoor. Denmark went 9 for 14 on her way to 20 points and seven boards, while Spoor posted four points in addition to nine blocks and five assists. That's the most points Denmark has posted since back in December of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Vivian Meshanko, who earned eight points.

They weren't the only one working in the assists department: St. Petersburg Catholic was working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Dunedin only racked up eight assists.

Several Falcons players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Erionna Henry, who almost dropped a double-double on ten points and nine rebounds. Henry is also crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Trinity Clincy, who scored 13 points and seven steals.

St. Petersburg Catholic is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a massive bump to their 15-8 record this season. As for Dunedin, they have also traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-8 record this season.

St. Petersburg Catholic has already played their next game, a 63-10 victory against Cristo Rey Tampa on the 23rd. As for Dunedin, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 55-51 win against East Lake on the 23rd.
