Basketball Game Preview: Little Cypress-Mauriceville Bears vs. Bridge City Cardinals

Little Cypress-Mauriceville and Bridge City are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2020, but not for long. The Little Cypress-Mauriceville Bears will square off against the Bridge City Cardinals at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Little Cypress-Mauriceville took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They took down Jasper 52-36.

Meanwhile, Bridge City got the win against Jasper on Friday by a conclusive 51-28. Given the Cardinals' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 432nd, while the Bulldogs are ranked 1123rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Little Cypress-Mauriceville's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-15. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.3 points per game. As for Bridge City, their record is now 17-9.
