Baseball Recap: Bennett Wins Going Away Against Middle Park

Bennett owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Thursday. Everything went their way against the Middle Park Panthers as they made off with an 8-0 victory. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Tigers also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2024.

Brody Hawes made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out nine over seven innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Ben Mathis was incredible, going 2-for-4 with six stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Those six stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Avant Dickens, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

Bennett hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Middle Park struck out nine times.

The win got Bennett back to even at 7-7. As for Middle Park, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-6.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bennett will take on Sterling at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Middle Park, they will face off against Arvada at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
