Softball Recap: Central Academy Beats Parkwood for Their Third Straight Victory

Central Academy hadn't done well against Parkwood recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. The Cougars never let the Wolf Pack get on the board and left with a 3-0 win. Winning may never get old, but the Cougars sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

The result came thanks to Addison Crawford's shutout, as she gave up just four hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Central Academy saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kieryn Peters, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-4. Peters has been hot recently, having posted two or more stolen bases the last three times she's played.

Central Academy's victory bumped their record up to 10-8. As for Parkwood, their loss dropped their record down to 9-9.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Central Academy will challenge rival West Stanly at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Parkwood is set to face off against their familiar foe Piedmont at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
