Softball Recap: Lake City Trojans vs. Pine River Area Bucks

Lake City had lost 15 straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Friday they dropped their record down to 5-22 to make it 16. They came up short against the Pine River Area Bucks, falling 24-0. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Bucks this season, with their most recent loss being a 18-2 defeat last Thursday.

As for Pine River Area, they are on a roll lately: they've won 16 of their last 18 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 25-4 record this season. The result was nothing new for Pine River Area, who have now won 19 matches by seven runs or more so far this season.

For Pine River Area's part, Kylee Mumby made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Mumby has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.
