Baseball Recap: Williams Field's Luck Changes for the Better on Tuesday

Williams Field came out on top against Higley on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run sixth inning. The Black Hawks took their contest against the Knights 10-6. For the Black Hawks, this counts as revenge for the 2-1 victory the Knights walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2025.

Williams Field got a great performance from Lane Abel as he struck out seven batters over six innings while giving up five earned runs off four hits. Abel has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, JJ Utash and Asher Landry did most of the damage at the plate: Utash went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI, while Landry went 2-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI. Landry has become a key player for Williams Field: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 8-9 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Ryan Teran, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one double.

Williams Field hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in four consecutive games.

With the win, Williams Field broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 16-9. As for Higley, their record is now 12-12.

Williams Field will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Knights: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
