Baseball Recap: Escondido Victorious

Escondido won the last time they faced Ramona and things went their way on Monday too. The Cougars sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-3 win over the Bulldogs.

Ryder Taylor spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on three hits and racked up eight Ks.

At the plate, Jake ` Fleming was incredible, going 1-for-2 with one home run and four RBI. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high.

Escondido has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-3 record this season. As for Ramona, the defeat snapped their winning streak at seven games and leaves them with a 11-6 record.

Escondido will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Bulldogs: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
