Soccer Game Preview: Riverdale vs. LaBelle

The Riverdale Raiders and the LaBelle Cowboys/Cowgirls will compete for holiday cheer at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Riverdale's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for three straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Riverdale managed to keep up with Canterbury until halftime on Wednesday, but things quickly went downhill from there. The Raiders came up short against the Cougars, falling 4-1. While losing is never fun, Riverdale can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida soccer rankings (they are ranked 352nd, while Canterbury are ranked 140th).

Meanwhile, LaBelle fell victim to Clewiston and their airtight defense on Tuesday. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Tigers.

LaBelle now has a losing record of 3-4-3. As for Riverdale, their loss dropped their record down to 4-6-1.

Riverdale came out on top in a nail-biter against LaBelle when the teams last played back in January of 2023, sneaking past 1-0. Do the Raiders have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Cowboys/Cowgirls turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
