Football Recap: Skyline Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Skyline couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They came up short against the Kettle Run Cougars on Friday, falling 35-14. The Hawks haven't had much luck with the Cougars recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

When it comes to explaining why Skyline lost, don't look at Zayden Burks. Despite the final result, he rushed for 244 yards and a pair of touchdowns while picking up 8.7 yards per carry. Burks' rushing production has been exceptional for a while as that marked his 11th straight game with at least 124 rushing yards.

Kettle Run's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jonathan Taylor, who rushed for 104 yards and two TDs. That's the most rushing touchdowns Taylor has posted since back in September. Carter Lubbe was another key player, rushing for 102 yards and one score on only 12 carries.

Skyline's defeat dropped their record down to 9-4. As for Kettle Run, the victory was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 12-1.

Skyline does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Kettle Run, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 29-28 win against Liberty Christian on the 6th.
