Football Game Preview: Wakefield vs. Centre

On Friday Wakefield take on Centre . It might come down to the wire as the MaxPreps rankings project a close match.

Wakefield were able to grind out a solid win over Hartford last Friday, winning 50-40. Senior Skylur Merritt was the offensive standout of the match for Wakefield, as he rushed for 149 yards and 2 touchdowns. Merritt has now scored at least one touchdown in the past 4 games.

Meanwhile, after a big victory against Hartford two weeks ago, Centre came back down to earth. Centre have to be aching after a bruising 40-66 loss to Waverly.

Wakefield's victory lifted them to 2-3 while Centre's defeat dropped them down to 3-2. Given their high-scoring efforts against their previous opponents, it will be interesting to see how far up these teams can run up the score.
