Gideon had to kick off their season on the road on Tuesday, but they showed no ill effects. They blew past the New Madrid County Central Eagles 3-0. The victory continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now won five in a row.

Gideon's got stronger as the match went on, holding New Madrid County Central to fewer and fewer points set over set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 28-26, 25-20, 25-18.

Gideon's offense was headlined by Layla Watkins and Karli Ashabranner, who picked up 17 kills apiece. They got some help from Aubree Sharp and her 32 assists. Leeann Ford controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Gideon will welcome Clarkton at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for New Madrid County Central, they will be playing at home against Hayti at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
