Baseball Recap: Ridgefield Park Triumphs

Ridgefield Park hadn't done well against Mahwah recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Scarlets narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Thunderbirds 7-6. This was payback for the Scarlets, who suffered a 10-0 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Jason Alvarado was incredible, going 1-for-2 with one home run and two RBI. That home run was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Ryan Lewis, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4.

Ridgefield Park now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Mahwah, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-4 record this season.

Ridgefield Park will take on Leonia at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Mahwah, they will head out to face off against River Dell at 4:15 p.m. on Monday.
