Softball Recap: Sonora Takes a Loss

Sonora was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They came up short against the Hughson Huskies, falling 10-1. The Wildcats were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Huskies apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in March of 2024.

Sonora's loss dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Hughson, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-6-1 record this season.

Sonora will be taking part in a tournament against Ben Holt College Prep Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Hughson, they will welcome Escalon at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Cougars have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.73 runs per game on average), something the Huskies will no doubt try to take advantage of.
