Baseball Preview: Pilgrim Patriots vs. South Kingstown Rebels        
        
		
            
 The Pilgrim Patriots will head out on the road to  square off against  the South Kingstown Rebels at 5:00  p.m.  on Monday. Pilgrim will be strutting in after a  win while South Kingstown will be coming in after a  loss.
 Pilgrim will head into Friday's  match on the come-up: they were handed a two-run  defeat in their last  game, but they sure didn't let that happen against Mt. Hope  on Friday. Everything went Pilgrim's way against Mt. Hope as Pilgrim made off with  a  7-1 victory. The  win was a breath of fresh air for Pilgrim as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.
  Aidan Dumond was  excellent,  scoring a  run while going 3-for-4. Another player making a difference was  Derek Asciolla, who  scored a  run and  stole two bases while  getting on base  in three of his five plate appearances.
 Meanwhile, South Kingstown is ranked highly in their home state and   on Saturday they took on another highly ranked team in the form of East Lyme. South Kingstown took  an  8-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of East Lyme.
 Pilgrim's victory  ended  a  three-game drought on the road  and  puts them at 5-8. As for South Kingstown, their loss dropped their record down to 12-3.
 Pilgrim couldn't quite finish off South Kingstown in their previous matchup  back in May of 2023 and fell  3-1. Can Pilgrim avenge their  defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
