Western Albemarle faced Charlottesville in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Monday. The Warriors fell just short of the Black Knights by a score of 2-1. Western Albemarle's defeat signaled the end of their six-game winning streak.

Their goal came courtesy of Michael Cleveland, who's now up to four this season.

Western Albemarle's loss was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 9-1-2 and their overall record down to 10-2-2. As for Charlottesville, the win keeps they at an undefeated 13-0-3.

As for Charlottesville, they will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Millbrook at 6:00 p.m. on June 2.
