Recap: South Putnam Eagles vs. Northview Knights
The South Putnam Eagles were the 73-67 winner over the Northview Knights when they last played one another back in January of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. South Putnam received a tough blow on Friday as they fell 62-45 to Northview. South Putnam's defeat continues an unfortunate trend for the squad, making it three in a row.
Cam Bozell and Drew Hill certainly did their best on Friday to try and avoid the loss. Bozell scored 12 points along with three steals, while Hill scored 13 points along with three steals. Parker Harris was another key contributor, scoring four points along with three steals.
Northview found their leader in underclassman Brayden Goff, who dropped a triple-double on 16 points, ten rebounds, and 13 assists. Goff is on a roll when it comes to assists, as he's now posted eight or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Peyton Mccullom, who scored 14 points.
South Putnam's defeat dropped their record down to 4-9. As for Northview, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 4-6 record this season.
South Putnam will head out on the road to take on Cascade at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Cascade is out to stop a three-game streak of losses at home. Northview won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Plainfield at 7:30 p.m. on January 13th. Plainfield presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Northview in Indiana (Plainfield is ranked 33rd, while Northview is ranked 278th).
