Soccer Recap: Valhalla Takes a Loss

Valhalla was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They took a 5-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Monte Vista Monarchs. While losing is never fun, the Norsemen can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 899th, while the Monarchs are ranked 287th).

Valhalla's defeat dropped their record down to 1-14-3. As for Monte Vista, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-6-4.

Valhalla will square off against Santana at 7:00 p.m. on February 7th. As for Monte Vista, they will take on Sweetwater at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Sweetwater is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 2.7 goals per game this season.
