Basketball Recap: Hillsboro Eagles vs. Godley Wildcats
After flying high against Ferris last Tuesday, Hillsboro came back down to earth. The Hillsboro Eagles took a 41-33 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Godley Wildcats on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 400th, while the Wildcats are ranked 118th).

Despite the loss, Hillsboro saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Aaliyah Cephus posted eight points in addition to eight rebounds and five steals. With that strong performance, Cephus is now averaging an impressive 2 steals per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Charlee Mack, who earned 13 points and three steals.
Even though they lost, Hillsboro smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in five consecutive matchups.
