Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Myrtle). They never let the Ashland Blue Devils get on the board and left with a 24-0 victory on Friday. The win continues a trend for the Hawks in their matchups with the Blue Devils: they've now won eight in a row.

BJ Treadaway made a splash while hitting and pitching. He struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). Treadaway was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-2. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Van Paul Poteet, who scored three runs while going 2-for-2. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (two). Jack Raines was another key player, scoring a run while going 3-for-3.

Myrtle was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .800. They are a perfect 8-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Myrtle's victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-6. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.2 runs on average over those games. As for Ashland, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-6.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Myrtle beat Ashland by a score of 13-0 later that day.
