Basketball Recap: Fairview Now 6-2 over Last Eight Games

Fairview's game last Saturday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They secured a 53-49 W over the Iroquois Braves. Given the Tigers' advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 161st, while the Braves are ranked 414th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Iroquois' defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Roman Caporale, who went 6 of 8 on his way to 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Cajohn Howard, who went 5 for 10 en route to 12 points and six boards.

Fairview is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.1 points per game. As for Iroquois, their loss dropped their record down to 5-12.

A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Fairview Tigers take on the Northwestern Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. on February 4th. As for Iroquois, they will take on Harbor Creek at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
