Basketball Recap: Cerro Gordo/Bement Takes a Loss

On Thursday, the Cerro Gordo/Bement Broncos came up short against the La Salette Academy Lions and fell 45-32.

Elijah Hall was his usual excellent self, almost dropping a double-double with 21 points and nine boards for La Salette Academy. Owen Whitehead was another key player, putting up eight points and six rebounds.

Cerro Gordo/Bement's loss dropped their record down to 11-17. As for La Salette Academy, they pushed their record up to 16-7 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cerro Gordo/Bement and Tri-County [Kansas/Shiloh/Oakland] will face off at 7:00 p.m. on Friday without much rest, having both just played. Tri-County [Kansas/Shiloh/Oakland] knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past four matchups -- so hopefully Cerro Gordo/Bement likes a good challenge. As for La Salette Academy, they and Calvary Christian Academy will face off at 6:00 p.m. on Friday without much rest, having both just played.
