Basketball Game Preview: Irondequoit Eagles vs. Eastridge Lancers

Irondequoit and Eastridge are an even 3-3 against one another since December of 2015, but not for long. The Irondequoit Eagles will look to defend their home court on Monday against the Eastridge Lancers at 7:15 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.

Last Thursday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Irondequoit beat Spencerport 59-53. Given the Eagles' advantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 228th, while the Rangers are ranked 475th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Eastridge was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost to Greece Olympia on the road by a 84-70 margin.

Irondequoit has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a massive bump to their 4-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.5 points per game. As for Eastridge, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-5.

Irondequoit was able to grind out a solid victory over Eastridge in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, winning 63-56. Does Irondequoit have another victory up their sleeve, or will Eastridge turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
