Softball Recap: Hampton Bays Takes a Loss

Hampton Bays was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 11-3 to the Mount Sinai Mustangs, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Mustangs this season, with their most recent defeat being a 10-9 loss back in April.

Shea Egan made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. Meghan Peterson also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.

Hampton Bays' defeat dropped their record down to 2-16. As for Mount Sinai, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-8.

As of now, neither Hampton Bays nor the Mustangs have any future games scheduled.
