Even though the Overland Christian Eagle scored an imposing 56 points on Thursday, the Heartland Mustangs still came out on top. Heartland secured a 60-56 W over Overland Christian. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Heartland.

Heartland found their leader in underclassman Jayce Maiden, who scored 25 points along with 6 rebounds and 3 blocks. The game was Maiden's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Diego Martinez, who dropped a double-double on 12 rebounds and 10 assists.

Heartland now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Overland Christian, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Heartland won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Northland Christian at 7:30 p.m. on December 1st. As for Overland Christian, they will head out on the road to face off against Heartland at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Heartland focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up nine on Friday.
