Basketball Game Preview: Lincoln Lutheran Warriors vs. Doniphan-Trumbull Cardinals

The Lincoln Lutheran Warriors will square off against the Doniphan-Trumbull Cardinals at 11:20 p.m. on Saturday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

On Thursday, Lincoln Lutheran needed a bit of extra time to put away Auburn. They came out on top against the Bulldogs by a score of 61-49. Given the Warriors' advantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked second, while the Bulldogs are ranked 29th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

It was another big night for Jacob Duitsman, who dropped a double-double with 35 points and ten rebounds. Those 35 points gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Grant Stowell, who posted 12 points and seven boards.

Meanwhile, Doniphan-Trumbull entered their tilt with Wood River on Friday with four consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with five. They walked away with a 65-57 victory over the Eagles.

Lincoln Lutheran is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 17-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.4 points over those games. As for Doniphan-Trumbull, they pushed their record up to 14-5 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home.
