Wakulla was handed a seven-run defeat in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Thursday. They won by a run and slipped past the Maclay Marauders 3-2. This was a revenge game for the War Eagles: when they faced off against the Marauders back in February, they had to take a 4-3 loss.

Wakulla gave Landon Lawrence the start and clearly made the right call: he tossed 3.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits.

At the plate, Sam Bruce was excellent, going 3-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Cason Marlow, who went 2-for-3 with one triple and one run.

Wakulla hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their strikeout total in three consecutive games.

Wakulla's record now sits at 11-12. As for Maclay, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-7.

Wakulla wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 1-0 loss against Holmes County on the 10th. As for Maclay, they have also already played their next matchup, a 6-5 victory against Blountstown on the 10th.
