Softball Game Preview: Madison Bulldogs vs. Monmouth Academy Mustangs

The Madison Bulldogs will venture away from home to challenge the Monmouth Academy Mustangs at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Madison comes in still looking for their first win of the season.

Fans were treated to a battle of the Bulldogs on Wednesday. Madison came up short against Hall-Dale, falling 16-2.

Monmouth Academy came out on top against Winthrop on Wednesday thanks in part to the team's impressive ten-run first inning. The Mustangs put the hurt on the Ramblers with a sharp 15-0 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Mustangs.

Shannah Parsons made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out eight over four innings pitched. Parsons was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Rileigh Chase was incredible, going 3-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple. Another player making a difference was Lauren Burnham, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Monmouth Academy's record is now 2-0. As for Madison, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-4.

Madison couldn't quite get it done against Monmouth Academy when the teams last played back in May of 2024 as they fell 13-8. Can the Bulldogs avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
