Softball Recap: Mabel-Canton Comes Up Short

Mabel-Canton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 4-3 heartbreaker at the hands of the Lourdes Eagles. The Cougars were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Eagles apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2025.

Mabel-Canton saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Syeirra Stortz, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one double.

Mabel-Canton now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Lourdes, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-2.

Mabel-Canton didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, an 11-0 defeat against Houston on the 21st. As for Lourdes, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 22-7 loss against Kasson-Mantorville on the 21st.
