Softball Recap: Huntsville Beats Teague for Their Fourth Straight Victory

Huntsville entered their tilt with Teague on Friday with three consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with four. Everything went their way against the Teague Lions as they made off with an 18-7 win. That's more bragging rights for the Hornets, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Angelique Hernandez was a standout: she got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That home run was her first of the season. Valerie Martin was another key player, going 1-for-3 with five RBI, one triple, and one run.

Huntsville was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .571. The last time their batting average was this high was back in April of 2024.

Huntsville pushed their record up to 8-6 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.3 runs over those games. As for Teague, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.

Huntsville wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 7-2 win against Richardson on the 28th. As for Teague, they will square off against Buffalo at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Teague has given up an average of 11.7 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.
