Football Game Preview: Wellpinit Redskins vs. SelPort Lumberjacks

The Wellpinit Redskins are packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game of the season: they will take on the SelPort Lumberjacks at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

On Friday, Wellpinit had to suffer through a 59-8 loss at the hands of Moses Lake Christian Academy/Covenant Christian. The Redskins have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, SelPort played a tough contest last Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They took a blow against Curlew, falling 44-14. The Lumberjacks were down 36-6 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Wellpinit will have to contain Danny Searson (Northport) as he made an impact in SelPort's last game. He picked up 62 receiving yards and one TD, and also rushed for 31 yards.all of that, receiving production came thanks to one massive catch

SelPort's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Wellpinit, their loss dropped their record down to 2-2.

Everything came up roses for Wellpinit against SelPort when the teams last played back in October of 2024, as the team secured a 44-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Redskins since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
