Basketball Recap: Robby Carrafiello's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Seymour over Waterbury Career Academy

Seymour lost against Waterbury Career Academy back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Seymour Wildcats took a 57-44 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Waterbury Career Academy Spartans. The contest marked the Wildcats' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Seymour's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Robby Carrafiello, who went 5-for-9 to rack up 14 points and five assists. Carrafiello is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 46% in the last four games he's played. Joey Carrafiello was another key player, putting up ten points.

Seymour's record now sits at 14-8. As for Waterbury Career Academy, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-4 record this season.

Seymour does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Waterbury Career Academy, they are taking a road trip to take on Crosby at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Crosby knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 21 contests -- so hopefully Waterbury Career Academy likes a good challenge.
