Baseball Recap: Peninsula Seahawks vs. Capital Cougars
Peninsula couldn't beat Capital on Wednesday even though they stacked five runs on them in the third inning. The Seahawks fell just short of the Cougars by a score of 7-6. The Seahawks were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Cougars earlier this season, when they won 7-2.
Michael Tellez made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double. Kainoa Coit also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.
Peninsula's loss dropped their record down to 11-5-1. As for Capital, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-3 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Peninsula will square off against Gig Harbor at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (the Seahawks have won three straight at home, while the Tides won nine straight on the road), something that'll have to change. As for Capital, they will face off against Lincoln at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Cougars are facing the Abes at the right time seeing as the Abes are stuck on a 16-game losing streak.
