On Friday, Rockbridge Academy got the win against Greater Grace Christian Academy by a conclusive 11-1. The result was nothing new for the Scots, who have now won six matches by six runs or more so far this season.
John Ault made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out eight over five innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

In other batting news, Will Schingeck and Christian Keatts did most of the damage at the plate: Schingeck went 1-for-3 with four stolen bases and three runs, while Keatts went 1-for-2 with five stolen bases and two runs. Rockbridge Academy is 5-1 when Schingeck posts two or more stolen bases, but 2-3 otherwise. Evan Tessneer was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Mount Airy Christian Academy came up short against Heritage Academy on Friday and fell 8-3.
Carson Gilbert was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base and two RBI.
Mount Airy Christian Academy has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-3-1 record this season. As for Rockbridge Academy, their record is now 7-4.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. Rockbridge Academy has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 10.6 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Mount Airy Christian Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging 4.5 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Rockbridge Academy took their win against Mount Airy Christian Academy in their previous matchup on Wednesday by a conclusive 9-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Scots since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
