Baseball Game Preview: Saugus Centurions vs. Ganesha Giants

The Saugus Centurions will venture away from home to square off against the Ganesha Giants at 3:15 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are coming into the game red-hot, with Saugus sitting on three straight victories and Ganesha on 17.

Saugus is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Murrieta Mesa with a sharp 9-3 win. Considering the Centurions have won ten matches by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Daniel Harris looked comfortable as he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits over four innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Saugus got a massive performance out of Matt Long, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, two RBI, and one double. Another player making a difference was Zackery Seeley, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double.

Saugus kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in April.

Meanwhile, Ganesha gave up the first runs on Tuesday, but they didn't let that get them down. They walked away with a 4-1 victory over La Canada.

Ganesha saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Alvaro Moreno, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base. Tommy Giandomenico was another, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.

Ganesha pushed their record up to 20-3 with the win, which was their ninth straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.6 runs on average over those games. As for Saugus, their record now sits at 18-12.
