Robert Lee Turns in Season-Best Performance
West Chicago was led to victory by Robert Lee, who turned in his biggest game of the season on Friday. Lee rushed for 301 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 13.1 yards per carry, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process. His longest rush was for an incredible 70 yards.
Lee is probably looking forward to his next game, a road matchup against Fenton on Thursday. Back in September of 2023 (the last time Lee saw the Bison), he rushed for 136 yards and two touchdowns.

Luke Melendez Goes Supernova in Ridgewood Defeat
Ridgewood had to settle for second on Friday, but Luke Melendez sure wasn't going down easily. Melendez was dynamite, picking up 127 receiving yards and two touchdowns. His longest reception was for an incredible 79 yards.
If the past is any indication, Melendez could be in store for another big game when he takes on Elmwood Park on Friday. Back in October of 2023 (the last time Melendez saw the Tigers), he picked up 93 receiving yards and two touchdowns.

Tommy Doyle Makes It Two for West Chicago
The second West Chicago player making an appearance here is Tommy Doyle, and for good reason. He rushed for 97 yards and a touchdown on only six carries, and also picked up 72 receiving yards. He also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, forcing a fumble and making two total tackles in addition to snagging an interception.
For the season, Doyle has averaged 30.4 receiving yards per game. That doesn't tell the whole story though: at this point last year, he was only averaging 10.75 rushing yards per game. This year he is averaging 56.38 rushing yards.
