Softball Game Preview: Canyon Cougars vs. Clemens Buffaloes

For the first time this season, Canyon will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup on Tuesday. They are taking a road trip to challenge the Clemens Buffaloes at 7:00 p.m. Canyon's pitching crew has only allowed 1.2 runs per game this season, so Clemens' hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Canyon saw some tournament action on Thursday. They were the clear victor by a 7-1 margin over Floresville. The Cougars might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven games by six runs or more this season.

Meanwhile, after a string of six wins, Clemens' good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They fell just short of La Grange by a score of 4-3.

Clemens saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Alexus Worthy, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI. Ava Aguayo also deserves some recognition as she stole her first stolen base of the season.

Canyon's win bumped their record up to 9-1. As for Clemens, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-3.
