Soccer Game Preview: Cheektowaga vs. Holland

The Cheektowaga Chargers will head out on the road to face off against the Holland Dutchmen at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Cheektowaga is coming into the contest on a six-game losing streak.

Cheektowaga is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to four goals on Friday, they were much more limited against Griffith Institute on Monday. They lost 6-0 to the Griffins. While losing is never fun, Cheektowaga can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York soccer rankings (they are ranked 340th, while Griffith Institute are ranked 139th).

Meanwhile, for the first time this season, Holland was forced to settle for a draw. Neither they nor Eden could gain the upper hand on Thursday so the two teams had to settle for a 1-1 draw.

Cheektowaga's defeat dropped their record down to 1-7. With that draw, Holland's record moves to 3-2-1.

Cheektowaga suffered a grim 4-1 defeat to Holland in their previous matchup back in September of 2015. Can the Chargers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
