Football Recap: Maricopa Comes Up Short + How To Watch

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Maricopa can now relate to. They were dealt a 52-22 loss at the hands of the California Lutheran C-Hawks on Friday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Indians of the 52-14 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2019.

California Lutheran got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Tyler Treder out in front who picked up 164 receiving yards and five touchdowns. Treder didn't just play on offense: he also picked up two sacks and made 14 total tackles (6.0 for loss). Another signal caller making a difference was Mathias Galanos, who threw for 283 yards and six TDs on only 18 passes.

This is the second loss in a row for Maricopa and nudges their season record down to 5-5. As for California Lutheran, their victory bumped their record up to 4-6.

Maricopa does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for California Lutheran, they will square off against Calvary Baptist at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Cougars' defense has only allowed 11.9 points per game this season, so the C-Hawks' offense will have their work cut out for them.
