Basketball Recap: Kossuth Proves Higher State Rank Is No Mistake

Kossuth lost to Blue Mountain back in December of 2023, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Friday. The Kossuth Aggies enjoyed a cozy 57-38 win over the Blue Mountain Cougars. Given the Aggies' advantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 111th, while the Cougars are ranked 233rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

The victory made it two in a row for Kossuth and bumps their season record up to 6-5. As for Blue Mountain, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-8.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Kossuth will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Hardin County at 8:30 a.m. on December 27th. As for Blue Mountain, they will be home for the holidays to greet Hickory Flat at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
