Basketball Recap: Olympic Heights Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

Olympic Heights and St. Thomas Aquinas squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Olympic Heights had to settle for second. They were outmatched by the St. Thomas Aquinas Raiders and fell 79-33. While losing is never fun, the Lions can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 241st, while the Raiders are ranked 23rd).

It was another big night for London Thomas, who dropped a double-double with 27 points and ten boards for St. Thomas Aquinas. Thomas continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Sara Lee Blair was another key player, putting up eight points and 13 rebounds.

This is the second loss in a row for Olympic Heights and nudges their season record down to 16-3. As for St. Thomas Aquinas, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 18-8.

Olympic Heights does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for St. Thomas Aquinas, they have already played their next contest, a 52-49 loss against Southridge on the 18th.
